David Goodman was born in Montreal and attended Sir George Williams University before moving to British Columbia in 1971, where a year later he became active in Vancouver real estate. David was awarded Top 10 Status with Block Brothers (NRS) nine times over a twenty-two year period and was recognized as the top company salesperson in 1979. His sales excellence continues at Macdonald Commercial where he has achieved number one sales status in 1996, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2006 and 2007.
David pioneered the practice of newsletters for multifamily building owners in 1983. The Goodman Report, a newsletter focused on the apartment industry, has now evolved to a fully integrated email and print apartment news and marketing platform that has placed David at the pinnacle of apartment sales professionals in British Columbia and across Canada.
Since 1983, David has specialized in the marketing and sale of over 400 apartment buildings including 160 buildings since 2002 with a sales value exceeding $500 million. David’s apartment clients include local owners, off-shore families and institutional investors. He has sold a number of prominent multifamily development sites to Polygon, Wall Financial, Mosaic Homes, PCI, Bosa Ventures and Budget Rent-a-Car, as well as hotels and shopping centers on behalf of his clients.
From 1989-1993, David acted as a Director of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (ICI Division) serving on the Education Committee, guest lecturing on the "Art of Marketing Apartment Buildings" and has been a guest lecturer for the Urban Development Institute, Canadian Property Tax Association and has chaired the Associate Members Committee of the BC Apartment Owners and Managers Association for the past 3 years.
